Coffee
Aeropress
Based off technique described in James Hoffman's video here
- 14g coffee (ground at the finer end of medium, assuming this is light roasted coffee. The darker you go the more you may prefer to increase the dose and coarsen the grind).
- 300g water (brought to a boil and used immediately).
Directions
- Put the filter into the cap. Don't rinse or preheat the brewer (it doesn't make any difference)
- Put coffee into the brewer
- Place on scales and then add 200g of water, aiming to wet all the coffee during pouring
- Start a timer, and immediately place the piston piece into the top of the brewer, about 1cm in
- Wait 2 minutes
- Holding the brewer and the piston, gently swirl the brewer
- Wait 30 seconds
- Press gently all the way
- Add additional water as desired
Iced
Same as above, but press into a brewer containing ice. Let the ice in the brewer melt after pressing, then transfer to a new glass containing fresh ice.
Grinding
On the Timemore C2 Max, 10-14 clicks from start (turn clockwise until stop, that is the "start") is for espresso grind.
Other Notes
- Lighter roasts generally require higher water temperatures and longer brew times, as light-roasted beans are less porous than dark-roasted beans. Upping the brew time in the above recipe to 3 minutes seems to work well.
